TI BAII Plus – CPT I/Y returns RST 0.00

This was a weird issue I experienced with my Texas Instruments BA II Plus calculator that was resetting the calculator when trying to compute the interest rate of a TVM calculation.

It seems that a low battery was at fault, and on inspection was showing a voltage of 2.8V instead of above 3V. I thought it was worth posting since I couldn’t find any solutions online, and this is the first time I have heard of a low battery impeding a calculation.

Love you bother. I was having the same problem. Whenever I pressed compute for NPV after putting in CFs more than 3, it used to get reset. I replaced the battery and the problem solved. I was about to buy a new calculator. But you saved my lots of money.
    Again thankyou soooo much!!!!!

Do not use the AOS. That’s the reason why your calculator is returning RST 0.00

Thanks for the info! You really saved me a lot of stress, time and money. I had the same “warning” problem when I tried to use the CF function and it reset all the time.
    Really appreciated!

Wow this really helped, my financial calculator kept showing RST 0.00 after I kept trying to find the interest rate. But after changing the battery it worked. Thank you!

Huge Thank you! Taking the CFP Exam in two days and I was getting the “RST 0.00” and then the calculator would reset when solving for I/Y.

It happened during my crash course review as well but then the calculator has been working since. I was about to run to the store to buy a “Back Up” calculator just in case. Glad you created this post. Super helpful for us Texas Instruments BA II Plus calculator users out there.

    Cheers!
