The Markstrat Commercial Team allocation in Markstrat is a bit of a blackbox, in general the commercial team size should increase proportionally to the number of products sold, but truthfully, I have never seen the commercial team negatively affect the sales, its always the products specifications.
Look at a number of past Markstrat simulations of Sonites, plotting the volume sold vs. the commercial team at the time, it can be observed that large volumes can be sold with very little commercial team persons. i.e. in one round 900,000 products were sold with a commercial team of only 38 persons, or 546,000 products sold with a commercial team of only 30 persons (this is the same number you start with in round 0). What this tells us is that probably the starting commercial team size is probably too high, and that larger commercial teams are not required for large volumes.
The orange line is a simplified trend that may show an easy way to estimate the commercial time size.
Commercial Team [persons] = 10*Volume[k]^0.3
