Enabling English language on a CECT T689

I recently purchased a CECT T689 for its dual SIM capability. The first problem was due to being a Chinese phone, the default language was Chinese. It was by luck that I found the English language setting.

Here is how to set the CECT T689 to English language:

  1. Click on the circular button which will get you to the main phone menu, you will see some Windows style icons
  2. Click the down arrow till you get to the last menu (as seen in the following picture). This is the ‘System’ menu, click the first icon which looks like a calculator, this is the ‘Settings’ menu.

  3. Once in the settings menu, click on the second option, this is ‘Phone Setup’
  4. In the phone setup menu click on the third menu option, this is ‘Language’
  5. You will now be in the language menu and can see the ‘English’ option, in English.

    Hi

    Please can you help, I reset my phone to factory settings and it is now in arabic, I have tried the above but it does not work, just gives you 2 lots of abc and two lots of arabic below, have tried the all and nothing works.

    Any help would be great.

    Simon, I am not sure how you got Arabic, my phone only has English and Chinese, and the above instructions definitely work.

    Confirm that you have a CECT T689.

    there is not english language in the meni,i fallow the instractions from u’r page and i found the language setting’s and there is no option for english.
    if its posible i need a instalation for english please send me email on my adres and direct page for downloading this option,or attach it on email msg and send it to me as winrar thanks goran

    hi, i’ve just bought a smartphone 109r but its also in chinese. it is sooo similar in menus to the phone you’ve described, but in the phone settings menu, the third option down doesnt appear to have any connection with language, or doesnt bring up the word english. any ideas would be very very helpful as im tearing my hair out over it. cheers , cat, plymouth
